Britain's Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson is reconsidering plans to publish her "racy" novel.

The historical book - which was due to be published at the end of last year - has been postponed indefinitely.

Sarah's literary collaborator, US historian Laura Van Wormer, has admitted she is getting impatient with the delays.

Sarah - whose previous books include 'Budgie the Little Helicopter' - once insisted: It will pertain to and have some parallels to my own life, although this isn't a story about me

She told British newspaper The Daily Telegraph: "The Duchess and I are reconsidering our original publishing plan and weighting a number of factors and options for the short term and the long run.

"As soon as we come to a decision about which path we are to take, you shall know."

The novel - which Sarah once compared to the works of Daphne du Maurier, an early 19th Century bisexual author - will be called 'Hartmoor' and is based on a fiery, redhead called Margaret Montagu.
