Britain's Sarah Ferguson says she was a "broken" woman a year ago.
The Duchess of York - who has two daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, with ex-husband Prince Andrew - admits she hit rock bottom around 12 months ago but has now managed to turn her life around.
The 51-year-old redhead said: "A year ago, I would never have even picked up the telephone. I didn't take any calls. I couldn't. I was broken. Now I have started a fresh new page. Now it is time to move on."
Sarah's battle with depression has been documented in her new reality TV show, 'Finding Sarah', in which she speaks about how worthless she feels.
She says: "I'm disgusting and completely pointless. I'm 51 and I have no self-worth."
The six-part series is described as "her toughest challenge yet" and is a desperate attempt to "rebuild her life and career" after a series of scandals left Sarah at "rock bottom".
Sarah - who wasn't invited to the recent royal weddings of Prince William and Catherine Middleton nor Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall's ceremony - blames her downfall on her "people-pleasing addiction" and her tendency to "self-sabotage" and claims her financial woes are simply down to her "over-generous" nature.
