The Noisettes think their Diamond Jubilee gig was like "a rave".
The 'Never Forget You' hitmakers - who are made up of singer Shingai Shoniwa and guitarist Daniel Smith - loved performing at the music event at London's Battersea Park earlier this month to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's 60 years on the throne, and they found the concert to be much more lively than they were expecting.
Shingai exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "When we looked back at the two different playbacks, because there was one at Buckingham Palace too, it looked like ours was more of a rave, people were letting their hair down that little bit more.
"There are different parts of the scale you can get involved in and the higher up the scale you are, I don't know how acceptable it is for you to throw your arms in the air."
Despite the wet British weather threatening to put a dampener on the event, Shingai believes the adverse conditions brought out the best in the public and created a superb atmosphere to play in.
She added: "It was a wicked testimony to the come rain or shine attitude of the British public. The crowd looked a bit like Teletubbies because you couldn't see people's faces.
"It was literally a sea of the most amazing colourful raincoats, umbrellas, kids in wellies. Everyone was jumping up and down and that really got me in the mood, I was a bit sad when it started to rain, but I'm on stage and I'm covered."
