Whitney Port thinks Britain's Queen Elizabeth is a style icon.

The reality-star-turned-designer has says the 86-year-old monarch is one of her fashion muses because her pastel-coloured suits and pearls wouldn't be out of place on the Chanel catwalk, and admits her latest Whitney Eve collection was inspired by the crown jewels.

Whitney told Look magazine: "A trip to the Tower of London, where I saw the crown jewels, was the inspiration for my last collection. I wanted to base my prints on the gems, a bit like costume jewellery - even though the queen's jewels are real! The queen is very stylish, too - she's very Chanel."

This isn't the first time the royal has impressed with her impeccable taste, as Dannii Minogue recently branded her a "bona fide style queen" thanks to her ability to dress perfectly for her age.

Dannii said: "A grandmother several times over, the queen could be forgiven for sauntering into fuddy-duddy land, but instead, she dresses age-appropriately, sticking to colour-blocking suits she knows, and getting it so right.

"There aren't lots of octogenarian fashion icons, but this 86 year old is a bona fide style queen."
