Zara Phillips hopes she is "luckier" than her mother at the Olympics.
The royal is following in the footsteps of her mother Princess Anne and father Mark Phillips in competing in the Olympics equestrian team, but hopes she can go further than the princess, who competed in the 1976 games.
Referring to the jumping and endurance test, she said: "My mum fell off and I don't think my dad ran the cross-country".
Mark won two medals, gold in Munich in 1972 and silver in Seoul in 1988, but Zara said he hadn't offered her much advice ahead of her stint in the London games this summer.
She said: "He's not a big talker. He's more interested in training. I just count myself very lucky to be riding on a team with these guys."
Zara, 31 - who is the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth - is the youngest person on England's five person equestrian Olympic team, and will be riding High Kingdom in her first Olympic Games.
She added: "Obviously it will be great to be part of the Olympics and to get the atmosphere and the buzz of being part of it."
Zara was previously named Individual World Champion in 2006 and won gold at the 2005 European Championships on her horse Toytown.
