Duchess Catherine

Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge enjoyed a game of cricket in New Zealand.

The royal couple - who are currently being accompanied by their 8-month-old son Prince George on their tour of New Zealand - took some time off from parenting duties over the weekend to enjoy a game of cricket.

Prince William and Duchess Catherine were promoting the Cricket World Cup in Christchurch when they were encouraged to get involved themselves, despite being dressed in unsuitable attire.

The couple looked more than happy to join in, with Catherine, 31, dressed in a red suit and 3 inch black heels while Prince William, 30, showed off his sportsmanship in a navy suit and red tie.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took it in turns to play the role of batsman and bowler, and Catherine looked keen to be crowned the winner over her husband after beating him in a sail boat race just days before.

Prior to their cricket match, the couple had been welcomed to Christchurch with a traditional Maori greeting before being introduced to the families of victims of an earthquake which hit the city in 2011.
