Britain's Prince Harry has described the years since setting up his charity Sentebale as an "emotional rollercoaster".

The 30-year-old royal - who founded the organisation to benefit the children of Lesotho following his gap year in the country 10 years ago - made a heartfelt speech yesterday (20.11.14) in which he rallied his audience to continue raising money and making a difference, reports HELLO! magazine.

Harry - who is currently visiting Abu Dhabi as part of his tour of the Middle East - spoke at a dinner following the 5th annual Sentebale Polo Cup, in which he had played earlier in the day.

He said: "If you'd asked me ten years ago how these next ten years would look I wouldn't have predicted we'd be playing polo in Abu Dhabi in the same weekend of the Grand Prix weekend.

"Playing polo in the middle of the desert, this is fantastic, and it has been an emotional rollercoaster but we've come out on top and all I ever want to do is raise enough money so we can make a difference."

The fourth-in-line to the throne also confessed that despite facing problems in the past, the charity has learnt to work closely in conjunction with Lesotho's youths in order to achieve its goals.

He said: "Ten years down the line we have made a couple of mistakes and in turn learned from our mistakes and now we know that actually, by speaking to the core problem, which in this case is the children themselves - it doesn't matter whether they are eight, nine, 10, 15 - by actually speaking to them you get a really good taste of whether you're achieving it or not."

Most recently, the charity started building the Mamohato Children's Centre, a facility aimed at providing residential care for children with HIV and other illnesses, which is hoping to open in July next year.

Also present at the polo match was former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, who praised the Prince's efforts.

She said: "I have met Prince Harry a few times. I've seen him since he was about ten. I have seen him grow up. It is brilliant what he is doing with his life."
