Britain's Camilla Duchess of Cornwall is a big fan of period drama 'Downton Abbey'.

The 67-year-old wife of Prince Charles spoke of her love and admiration of the ITV show with actress Lesley Nicol, who plays the role of chef Mrs Patmore.

Speaking to The Express newspaper, Nicol explained: "Camilla loves Downton Abbey. We have spoken and she genuinely loves the show."

By contrast, Prince Charles is much less enamoured with the show, which has developed a huge worldwide following.

Nicol continued: "When I was talking to Prince Charles he had a slightly glazed look, although being very nice. Then somebody said, 'Sir, do you know Downton Abbey?' and he replied, 'Oh, I sort of come and go, really.' So I thought, 'I'm on a loser now,' but I think a lot of the royals do watch it."

The programme, which is set in a fictional Yorkshire country estate, recently returned for a fifth series.

Meanwhile, Prince William recently confessed to actress Lily James - who plays rebellious Lady Rose - that he is a big fan of the show, while his wife Duchess' Catherine's sister Pippa Middleton also regularly tunes in.
