The party planner - who is the mother of Britain's Duchess of Cambridge - will celebrate turning 60 at the weekend with 30 friends and family, including her tennis coach and yoga teacher, joining her on holiday in Mustique but her only sibling, Gary Goldsmith, isn't on the trip to the Caribbean.

However, insiders insist Gary - who has previously admitted to using drugs - is "supremely chilled" about the situation.

A source said: "We don't know why Gary has not been invited, particularly as he is her only sibling. You can only speculate really.

"There's not going to be any kind of party back at home either as we understand, so this really is the official birthday bash. It seems a shame that her closest relative won't be there."

Though pregnant Duchess Catherine's husband Prince William has made the trip, along with their son Prince George, 18 months, it is understood her siblings Pippa and James have not invited their partners, Nico Jackson and Donna Air, because of royal "protocol".

One source explained to the Daily Mail newspaper: "It's just a question of protocol really. It's a bit of a family lockdown as it always is when William and Kate are involved."
