The mother and sister of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, were seen driving into the palace this morning (03.05.15) to visit the 33-year-old royal and her husband, Prince William's, second child.

The couple spent their first night with their daughter in the 20-room 1A apartment in Kensington Palace in London, last night, and have now been joined by the 60-year-old businesswoman and the 31-year-old socialite.

The news of their visit will interest many as Pippa is the bookmakers' favourite to be a godmother to the as-yet-unnamed tot, who was born at 08.34am BST yesterday (02.05.15).

According to British bookmaker Ladbrokes, Pippa has odds of 4/1 on being godmother, while William's pals Fergus Boyd and Hugh Van Cutsem are favourites to be godfathers (5/1).

The Duke of Cambridge's brother, Prince Harry - who is currently on an army secondment in Australia - has odds of 6/1.

In 2013, the young couple - who wed in 2011 - named seven people as the godparents of their first child, 21-month-old Prince George, including Zara Tindall, Princess Diana's friend Julia Samuel, and friends of the pair, Oliver Baker and Emilia Jardine-Paterson.

Former private secretary to the couple Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, the duke's childhood pal William van Cutsem and the son of the Duke of Westminster, Earl Grosvenor were also named as godparents for George.

The couple are expected to leave Kensington Palace in the next few days to return to their Norfolk home of Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate, where the child's great grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, is currently attending a church service.
