Daniel Craig, will.i.am and Joss Stone are among the celebrities backing Britain's Prince Harry as he launches the Invictus Games.

The 29-year-old royal - who hopes the sporting competition for injured servicemen and women will recognise the sacrifice made by those who have fought for their country - has won the support of the stars who appear in an online film today released today (30.05.14).

In the promo, Daniel, who appeared alongside Queen Elizabeth in a Bond-style short film for the Olympics, starts to recite the Invictus poem by William Ernest Henley, reading: "Out of the night that covers me," before encouraging the public to back the event.

He said: "Our Armed Forces community have made huge sacrifices in recent years.

"Please give something back to those who give so much. Support this September's Invictus Games."

The actor appears in the film with Joss, will.i.am, Rod Stewart, actor Tom Hardy and Joanna Lumley, who pledge to back the event for "wounded warriors", along with Stephen Fry, Bear Grylls, Bruce Forsyth and Example, who all recite lines from the famous poem.

Talking about the Games, will.i.am also said: "This is all about using the power of sport to inspire recovery and support rehabilitation.

"I want to wish all the competitors the very best of luck for this inspiring event."

More than 400 wounded and injured serviceman and women from 14 different nations will take part in the competition from September 10 to 14 in London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
