The 33-year-old royal - who gave birth to her second child, Princess Charlotte, in May this year - had been expected to attend the wedding of socialite Daisy Dickson and estate agent Bear Maclean at at All Saints Church in Thurlestone, Devon, but instead opted to skip the ceremony entirely.

A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: "The names William and Catherine Wales were written on the plan, which appeared on an antique-looking mirror.

"They were due to sit at the top table. Kate had been expected to attend.

"No one knows why. Everyone was talking about it over breakfast the next morning."

Since having another child, it's been speculated the Duchess is keen for her and her husband to spend more of their spare time at home.

A close friend of the family previously said: "Kate has basically told him that because of his hours with his new job, any other time has to be spent with her and the kids.

"His friends understand, of course, but they are really missing him. And they suspect he is missing them too."
