The Duchess of Cambridge

The Duchess of Cambridge

Britain's Duchess of Cambridge is supporting a campaign to encourage more adults to volunteer across the country.

The 32-year-old royal, who is currently pregnant with her second child, is set to travel to Popular in east London today (16.12.14), where she will visit a newly formed Scout group.

The Duchess - who was known as Kate Middleton prior to her marriage to Prince William in 2011 - will spend time with young people as they learn sign language.

The royal, who has previously been credited with a surge of interest in the organisation, is set to meet members of the Beavers, the youngest of the Scout groups, as they work to achieve their Disability Awareness badge.

She will then hand out the badges to whoever has successfully completed the tasks.

The overarching ambition behind the 'Be Prepared' campaign - which the Duchess is supporting - is to get more adults to volunteer their time for such causes.

The Duchess hopes that by doing this, she and the Scout Association will be able to get the 40,000 children who are currently on waiting lists to join these organisations.
