Duchess of Cornwall

Britain's Duchess of Cornwall has hosted a tea party for seriously ill children.

Camilla met with several youngsters who are battling life-threatening illnesses at a converted barn on her and Prince Charles' Llwynywermod estate in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales as part of the royal couple's annual week-long visit to the country.

The duchess chatted to 10-year-old Jack Gow, who suffers from a rare form of cancer, about the treehouse which Dreams and Wishes - a voluntary organisation aiming to lift the spirits of seriously ill kids - recently built in his garden to boost his morale.

His mother Sylvie is quoted by the MailOnline as saying: "It meant a great deal especially because he had just a relapse at that point.

"The treehouse is on 7ft stilts and he loves the view out across the sea.

"And we will treasure days like today - getting invited into a tea party with the duchess - as we want to create as many happy memories for Jack as we can."

Camilla handed out a Welsh Guard teddy bear to each of the youngsters who attended the tea party, which enlisted the services of the Carmarthen Youth Opera to perform an array of Disney songs for the guests.
