The 'Late Late Show' host would love to be a part of the 33-year-old prince's celebrations ahead of his May 19 wedding to Meghan Markle, but isn't sure he will be asked to organise such an event.

James said: "He would never trust me with such a level of protocol."

The 39-year-old TV presenter has heaped praise on Harry for his "wonderful outlook on life" and admitted he is delighted the flame-haired royal looks so "happy and together" after finding love with the former 'Suits' star.

Speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight', he added: "I don't know Harry that well but anytime we've met or corresponded I'm incredibly fond of him.

"I think he's got a wonderful outlook on life and the world. The change in him has been quite remarkable to see really.

"It's wonderful to see him so happy and together, and I wish him all the best. I really, really do."

Earlier this week, James signalled his intentions to bag an invite to Harry's bachelor party, but admitted he is unlikely to be at the prince's nuptials at St George's Chapel, Windsor.

He said: "I don't think I'll be there [at the wedding]. I'd be very surprised.

"I just want to go on the bachelor party. That's all I'm looking forward to. He's gonna have a hell of a bachelor party."

What's more, he thinks Americans are more excited about the couple's forthcoming big day than people in the UK are.

He said: "When someone like Prince Harry is getting married, we go, 'Oh great, we should get a tiny flag.'

"And America screams. I always think that is a much better way to be. It is amazing."
