Prince Albert of Monaco has met various dignitaries as he continues his tour of China.

Prince Albert of Monaco met the president of China and other dignitaries on his tour of the country

The monarch attended continued his educational and cultural trip by attending an official dinner hosted by XI Jinping, the president of the People's Republic of China.

The prince enjoyed an audience with Mr Jinping before visiting the Olympic village, while later on his trip he attended the 2nd Youth Olympic Games at the Nanjing Olympic stadium.

Prince Albert took the opportunity to meet Thomas Bach, the president of the International Olympic Committee, who is among the most influential voices in world sport.

What's more, he's inaugurated the premises that are to serve as a base for Monaco's presence in the Chinese capital, Beijing.

The palace of Prince Albert explained that these premises will be home to the Consulate General of Monaco in Beijing, while they are also expected to bring new promotional opportunities for the principality thanks to an event space known as 'Salone Monaco'.

This means that the Embassy of Monaco will be able to stage events, exhibitions, conferences and meetings in the Chinese capital.
