The Prince of Wales and his wife, Duchess Camilla, will embark on a 12 day tour of the region at the beginning of next month, his office has confirmed.

Their visit will include trips to 12 different towns and cities across Australia and New Zealand and will kick off when they arrive in the latter's capital city of Wellington on November 4.

Charles and Camilla will then travel around Australia between November 10 to 15, visiting locations including Adelaide, Tanunda, Canberra, Sydney, Albany and Perth.

The tour will be the 15th time Prince Charles has visited Australia and will see him celebrate his 67th birthday with a barbecue on the same beach in Perth where he was photographed with model Jane Priest in 1979.

Charles has been taking a dip in the ocean at Cottesloe beach when the bikini clad beauty ran up to him and planted a peck on his cheek.

The heir to the throne's latest trip comes after his eldest son Prince William and his wife Duchess Catherine travelled to Australia with their baby son Prince George last year while younger son Prince Harry took part in a four-week placement with the Australian Defence Force earlier this year.
