The 67-year-old royal - who married his second wife Camilla in 2005 - is believed to have paid his spouse's sister Annabel Elliot almost £2 million since he wed his 69-year-old partner to work on the interior decorations of his buildings, according to the Mail Online.

Annabel has been commissioned to revamp the décor of the pub-come-hotel in Poundbury, Dorset, which will be named after the Duchess of Cornwall, and has spent the large sum of money on furnishings and material in a bid to make it resemble London's most renowned and luxurious hotel The Ritz.

The new project, which will feature 20 bedrooms, is set to open to the public in October this year.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles plans to pay tribute to his grandmother, who died in 2002, by erecting a statue of the Queen Mother in Queen Mother Square opposite the pub.

And the Prince of Wales has called on sculptor Philip Jackson to create the masterpiece.

The statue will allegedly be made out of cast iron, and will stand at nine foot six inches, which is just over four foot taller than the height of his relative.
