The 65-year-old royal will be joined at Celtic Manor hotel in Newport by UK Prime Minister David Cameron, First Minister Carwyn Jones and Welsh Secretary Stephen Crabb for a reception with world leaders and local residents on the first night of the NATO summit.

Guests attending the reception on September 4 will be entertained by Welsh musicians and served a selection of local food.

Mr. Crabb said: "Wales is a confident, outward-looking nation and we are proud to be hosting this historic NATO summit.

"The reception hosted by the Prince of Wales is our opportunity to promote Wales to the world and to thank the local community for their amazing hospitality.

"Wales is a confident, outgoing-looking nation and we are proud to be hosting this historic NATO summit."

Around 60 leaders from NATO members and partner nations have been invited to the reception.

They will be joined by local business people, schoolchildren, cadets and local council members, as well as the Welsh winners of the St David and the Points of Light Awards.

The summit will take place on 4 and 5 September at Celtic Manor.
