The prince, who celebrates his second birthday later this month, attended the high-profile event dressed in a smocked set of red shorts and embroidered shirt made by the British designer Rachel Riley, who is among the favourites of the Duchess of Cambridge.

The company announced yesterday (06.07.15) that it had sold out of the outfit in 12 month and 18-month sizes, although it was still available in three and six-month baby sizes.

What's more, the eye-catching outfit was virtually an exact replica of that worn by his father the Duke of Cambridge when he was taken to see his newborn brother Prince Harry in hospital in 1984.

The christening of Princess Charlotte was attended by others members of the royal family, including Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, as well as Carole and Michael Middleton, the parents of the Duchess of Cambridge.

Added to this, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Catherine's brother and sister, James and Pippa Middleton, were all at the service at the Church of St Mary Magdalene.
