Britain's Prince Harry takes after his mother Princess Diana.

The 31-year-old royal, who lost his mum in Paris in 1997 in a car crash, is more like her than his father Prince Charles according to the family's former chef Darren McGrady, who has opened up the Princess of Wales because he read that Harry has struggled to remember her.

He said: "Harry is more like the princess. They were so alike. His mum would have been so so proud... She was incredible... That's the sort of thing he should know, the sort of things she did. He's struggling to remember but it's all coming back in his personality."

Meanwhile, his brother Prince William, 33, who is the second-in-line to the British throne, is very much like his dad.

Darren said: "William is like his father."

And Prince William once said to the chef: "'Darren, when I grow up I'm gonna be a police motorcyclist.'

"I stopped and looked and said, 'William I think they've got other plans for you!' "

Darren cooked for the Queen for 11 years before being asked to follow Princess Diana and the boys when she separated from the Prince of Wales in 1992.

He recalled the children loved "comfort foods" like spaghetti and meatballs, cottage pie, banana flans, burgers, pizza and sticky toffee pudding and he has fond memories of working in the royal household up until 1997.

He told ABC: "So she's on the healthy eating and William and Harry are on sort of the comfort foods.

"When William and Harry were home they were in the nursery upstairs and we'd always knew they were they because they'd be thundering up and down along the corridor or racing through the kitchen in their Army uniforms playing soldiers. Cooking for them was fun."
