The 50-year-old half-brother of the 'Suits' actress - who has been dating Prince Harry for around seven months - was arrested last week after allegedly holding a gun to his lover's head following a drunken argument, but has said he "still wants to go" to Meghan's royal wedding should budding couple decide to tie the knot.

He told The Sun newspaper: "Marriage and kids is on the cards for Meghan and Harry and I still want to go to the wedding if they'll let me.

"Of course I want to go to London and Buckingham Palace.

"Their relationship has been going from strength to strength and this drama is the last thing I wanted to happen. I want to tell Meghan I am truly sorry from the bottom of my heart."

The news comes after Thomas previously apologised to loved ones after his actions, and said he was "seeking help" to curb his drinking problem.

He said: "I am incredibly sorry for my actions and I'm especially sorry to everyone affected by my drinking.

"I am seeking help and I promise I will be the best person I can be going forward. Thank you for understanding."

Meanwhile, Thomas' comments are part of a string of engagement rumours surrounding the 35-year-old actress and her royal boyfriend, as sources previously claimed Harry, 32, was already "serious" about his relationship.

A source claimed: "Harry is more serious [about Meghan] then he ever has been about a woman before.

"It wouldn't surprise me if he's already thinking about engagement just because that's where his head goes."

Another source said those close to the pair "wouldn't be surprised" if there was a ring on Meghan's finger this year.

They said: "Those close to Harry and Meghan wouldn't be surprised if there will be an engagement announcement sometime this year."
