The Duke of Edinburgh was joined by a number of his grandchildren for a belated celebration at Berry Brothers and Rudd in Kensington, west London on Thursday (11.06.15), with Prince William and his wife Duchess Catherine enjoying their first night out together since their daughter Princess Charlotte was born six weeks ago.

Also in attendance at the bash were William's brother Prince Harry, Princess Anne's children Peter and Zara Philips and Prince Andrew's daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

Eugenie flew in from New York, where she works at an auction house, especially to join her grandfather - whose birthday was last Wednesday (10.06.15) and grandmother Queen Elizabeth for the party, the Daily Mail newspaper reports.

The venue, which is Britain's oldest wine and spirits merchant and dates back to the 17th century, requests a minimum spend of £2,500 in its private dining room, where a four-course menu costs up to £295 per head and bottles of wine sell for up to a staggering £7,000 each.

Though it is unknown what the royals dined on during the celebration, the menu boasts dishes including veal sweetbread, beef cheek, tandoori monkfish and oysters with chorizo jam. .

Despite his advancing years and periods of ill health, royal aides insist Philip has no intention of slowing down.

A source said: "No one would ever dare tell him to take it easy - you might as well take your life in your hands."
