Britain's Princess Anne, Prince Albert II of Monaco and Princess Charlene were among the royals at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The sporting event kicked off in Sochi, Russia, on Friday (07.02.14), and over the weekend Dutch royals King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands also joined the celebrations.

Former Olympic swimmer Charlene and husband Albert wore almost identical white jackets and black sunglasses at the event and cheered on Arnaud Alessandria of Monaco, who competed during the Alpine Skiing Men's Downhill race.

Anne was seen wrapped up in a navy and red coat and Team GB hat while sat with husband Admiral Laurence during the Men's Biathlon 10km Sprint, who wore a similar outfit.

Earlier in the week, she visited the Olympic Park ahead of the competition and met with Yelena Isinbayeva, a pole vaulter and mayor of the Olympic Village.

She was also seen reading a book during the middle of the three-hour opening ceremony on Friday, which was attended by dozens of world leaders, although American President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron were absent.

The princess is now celebrating after Britain won its first ever medal at the Winter Olympics.

Jenny Jones, 33, claimed the snowboard slopestyle bronze medal after waiting for 20 minutes while 10 other competitors took to the slopes to try and beat her score.
