Queen Elizabeth is recruiting a Digital Communications officer to take over her social media.

The 90-year-old monarch is on the search for a technical expert to take on the role of running her Twitter account for £30,000 per year, and applications for the position, which was advertised on the Royal Households website, will close late on Tuesday (14.02.17) evening.

The job description states the new recruit will be expected to work 37.5 hours per week in the Private Secretary's Office and will officially start next month.

The royal is hoping to find someone who can churn out innovative content that will "spark interest" on social media and their new website, which will be viewed "by millions".

The job specification reads: "It's knowing your content will be viewed by millions

"It's finding new ways to maintain The Queen's presence in the public eye and on the world stage. This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional.

"Working as part of a small team of digital media specialists, you'll create content for social networking and digital platforms, including our newly launched website, as well as researching and writing feature articles.

"Whether you're covering a state visit, award ceremony or Royal engagement, you'll make sure our digital channels consistently spark interest and reach a range of audiences.

"The reaction to our work is always high-profile, and so reputation and impact will be at the forefront of all you do. And having your work shared around the world will be the biggest reward."

And the candidate must have a University degree, as well as prior experience of managing a website in a "high profile environment" and "good" photography skills.

The successful applicant will also receive additional benefits including 33 days annual leave, including bank holidays, 15 per cent contribution to their pension scheme, and the opportunity to attend regular training classes.
