jagged little pill live gets a big thumbs up! December 14, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Wether a fan of alanis or not this is a must see concert. Alanis gives it her all and it shows. There are some songs on there that can not be found on the jagged little pill album along with the popular hits 'Oughta Know,Hand in my Pocket, ironic,Head over Feet, etc etc. If you want a top class Performance you can always count on Alanis to supply you with one, you just have to watch this video to see that! A must for fans, and a treat for others. I highly reccomend this one.

Things to note about JLP live.br1. The version of Wake Up contains one of the most stunning guitar solos ever and totally blows the rest of Jagged Little Pill out of the waterbr2. The unreleased songs are only partially therebr3. The interview and backstage footage is made up mostly of in-jokes and doesn't reveal much about alanis or her musicbr4. The amount of ridiculously low quality camcorder footage and needless changing between different concerts in the middle of songs is pretty annoyingbr5. Alanis' live shows are absolutely brilliantpSo overall, the way the video is put together is a nice idea but doesn't really work - the New Orleans footage is clearly the best, why couldn't the whole video have been of that one concert? However, it's worth putting up with this to see Alanis in action. just Wake Up alone is worth the price of the video
A cool live vid that shows alanis is amzing live! December 2, 2000 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
an amazing live set from the amazing alanisphighlights include the brillaint version of wake up - with a breathtaking ending...better than the recorded versionpthe thing with alanis is that she makes the live versions of her songs different to the studio versions, but without making them to desimilair. she makes anything live by her worth buying, as it is different, and really good!pa cool vid - BUY IT!
...do I overwhelm you in this place? January 3, 2002 wink24601@hotmail.com (UK) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Great music video, with an interesting, almost raw, 'scrapbook' of clips. pThe reason I didn't give it five stars was because these clips cut and change mid-song. It's an interesting idea, but sometimes I felt that it was just annoying. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Alanis fan, but I think there's one cut where the next clip is in a slightly different key to the first... ick. pAlso there are several clips from her music videos, which is nice, but a bit odd when mid-mosh we're head over feet in a school playground or what-have-you. pMy final complaint is that the track list boasts Can't Not and No Pressure Over Cappucino, two of my favourites of hers. Can't Not is a few tiny fragments of a studio recording near the beginning, and No Pressure Over Cappucino is played during the credits. So the only full, live songs are the ones that are on the original album.pThere is some nice variation between electric and acoustic live arrangements, which is interesting, and the random clips in-between songs are great!pWorth buying if you're an Alanis fan, and especially if, like me, you've never seen her live... I'm dying to see her in concert even more now! Can't wait 'til Under Rug Swept in Febuary!

Based on Alanis 1996 'Can't Not Tour' these compilations of Alanis experiances on the road is definately something not to miss if u are a huge fan.... It includes all the hits from the album - plus a few extras. For that tour she did over 250 shows so she mixed and muddled them to show gigs and variations of her songs from coast to coast.brIf you are looking for a lot of interviews and alanis in the flesh you will be disapointed , although she includes a few extremely brief interview snipits.pIts a nice compilation altogether of her and her band mates..but dont expect anything more than the music...she merely 'scratching the surface' of her experiance.brLets hope her music in highplaces is better..
