Amazon.co.uk Review An ultimately futile attempt to make lightning strike twice, this so-called spin-off from 1993's blockbuster IThe Fugitive/I avoids the label of "sequel" by forging ahead without the first film's star, Harrison Ford. The idea is to showcase the return of Tommy Lee Jones in his Oscar-winning role as tenacious U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard, this time testing his mettle against a covert government operative (Wesley Snipes) accused of murdering two secret service attachés. Unfortunately, Jones and the entire cast have been trapped in a rambling plot, and the underdog status that made Ford such a compelling hero is sacrificed to an evenly matched and eventually tiresome game of cat and mouse, with a villain whose identity is far too predictable. With no dramatic build-up and several superfluous characters to distract its focus, the film's momentum plays out like a rote exercise compared to the high stakes of the earlier film. i--Jeff Shannon/i

I've watched it many times! February 15, 2009 P. Butler (Sheffield, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is Tommy Lee Jones at his best. I don't think of it as a sequel at all. It's just a great action adventure film. The pace is good, the characters are are interesting, and it's a well constructed story. I go back to it every now and then. My wife like it because it's not too nasty, but still an action movie. Great fun!

WOW! February 19, 2001 3 out of 9 found this review helpful
Wow, is the only word that can be used to describe this soundtrack. It is absolutely amazing and matches so well with the brilliance of the actual film. I can close my eyes and remember each and every scene that each track came from. The soundtrack is also rated highly up there with the Back to Titanic one. If there is ever going to be a movie soundtracj you will buy, make it this one!!!!
GRIPPING!!! November 21, 2003 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
A very good action film with a predictable script but an unpredictable ending. This was one of the best action films of 1998 mainly because it had Wesley Snipes in it. Mark Sheridan (Wesley Snipes) is on the run after a routine pick up went wrong. He ended up killing two federal agents in self defence. It is upto Sam Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) to catch him. From crash landings in planes, to jumping off buildings, this film is has non stop action in it.brTommy Lee Jones easily steals the show, but lets not take anything away from Wesley Snipes though, he is as reliable as ever being the action hero.brTommy Lee Jones plays the no nonsense U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard and once again will stop at nothing to catch his fugitive. Little does he know that his fugitive is trained for this type of situation which makes him extremely hard to catch. But no one is that hard to catch for the great Sam Gerard, until now.brGreat acting, suspense and action all in one. Overall, if you like either of these two actors you will love this film, if you enjoy action films you will love this film, just watch it and you will understand what I mean.brEnjoy!!!!!
Worthy Sequel to the Fugitive May 1, 2007 Jay (Mauritius) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Sequel to an outstanding movie The Fugitive (1993). In this film, the focus is on the team that was searching for Dr. Richard Kimble in the first movie. That team was led by Tommy Lee Jones, who won an Oscar for his performance, which probably helped spur this sequel. It worked, as Jones and company (Joe Pantoliano and others) are just as much fun to watch as they were in The Fugitive.

br /There are many similarities to the latter, especially in the first third of the film, featuring some tremendous action scenes. Instead of a train crash, we have a plane crash. Instead of Harrison Ford on the run, we have Wesley Snipes. In both films, you have such an involving story that the two hours fly by.

br /The Fugitive is still one of my all-time favorite movies. If you were entertained by it as well but are wary of sequels, you needn't be here: this is very good.
