Amazon.co.uk Review A sleeper hit when released in 1992, this romantic fantasy works as a comedic adventure and a gentle tearjerker thanks to Mel Gibson's appealing performance. He plays Daniel, a daring test pilot who is deeply distraught by the apparent death of his girlfriend, Helen, in 1939. Feeling little reason to live, he volunteers for a pioneering cryogenics experiment and is thawed out 50 years later by two young boys. They bring the confused pilot home to Nat's single mom, Claire (Jamie Lee Curtis). There's a hint of romance, but Daniel desperately needs to know if Helen really died in 1939, and he discovers that love has a way of surviving a half-century leap in time. The premise of iForever Young/i is hokey and certain plot details are conveniently ignored, but Gibson, Curtis, and Elijah Wood (as Nat) hold it together with irresistible charm and just the right balance of fantasy and drama. i--Jeff Shannon/i

An Emotional Success! February 16, 2002 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
A 1930's pilot (Mel Gibson) finds himself emotionally lost when his wife is knocked over by a car and is stuck in a coma. He agrees to be involved in one of his friends experiments. So he gets frozen in time. br60 years later, a young boy named Nat Cooper (Elijah Wood) and his friend find his frozen body in an old army store room, and the pilot awakes. So Nat and his mum soon befriend him. But as he tries to find his old friend for help him about the experiment, time soon runs out leading to shocking and emotional consequences, with a happy ending.brI think Mel suits this part, and Elijah's performance is SUPERB! I highly recommend this film, as it is a romance/drama with a little bit of suspense involved. People who tend to get abit teary during these type of films, may want a box of tissues next to them.

If your a fan of Mel Gibson, and love stories then this really is a must have for any DVD collection. Its appeals to all age groups coupling humour with sadness in a most unique and awe inspiring way. You are garunteed to be glued to your seat when you watch this one with its nostalgic high speed aeroplane chase that is sure to set your pulse racing. It may not be Top Gun, but never the less it sure to remain a firm family favourite for everybody. Order your film now have the popcorn on standbye and get ready to enjoy the rollercoaster that is forever young. I guarantee you will not be dissappointed.
Real heartwarmer June 12, 2007 Jay (Mauritius) FOREVER YOUNG, in my opinion, is an excellent drama that will warm your heart and stay with you eternally. When Daniel (Mel Gibson) got thawed out in 1992, I was really shocked. This was because he met and fell in love with Claire (Jamie Lee Curtis). It was sad he had just lost his girlfriend (Isabel Glaser) in 1939, though. I also enjoyed seeing George Wendt (Harry), too. The moment I found out he was in this, I was taken aback. If you ask me, the performances were good, the direction was excellent, and the cast was perfectly chosen. Now, in conclusion, I highly recommend this excellent drama that will warm your heart and stay with you eternally to any Mel Gibson or Jamie Lee Curtis fan who hasn't seen it. You're in for a feel good time, so go to the video store, rent it or buy it, kick back with a friend, and watch it.
