Amazon.co.uk Review This horrible misfire from the usually reliable writer-director Andrew Bergman (IThe Freshman/I) has nothing funny, provocative, timely or interesting to say (despite being based on a novel by Carl Hiaasen) once Demi Moore gets her clothes off. Moore plays a single, unemployed mum caught up in a custody battle who elects to make some money by stripping at a club. The character's troubles don't end there, however: her ex-husband is posing a threat, and a perverted congressman (Burt Reynolds) is looking for more than a lap dance. Bergman's great wit is nowhere in sight, and the film primarily becomes another opportunity for Moore to function like a special effect. --ITom Keogh, Amazon.com/I

I never understood the poor reviews this film is getting. It must be snobbery. Obviously if a major star is near-nude in a film, she has "sold out". pI enjoyed the film. It is funny, and Demi looks great. Burt is excellent.
Disapointing October 14, 2009 diamondgeezer1 (Northamptonshire, England) Have to say I was expecting more from this movie, considering it starred the lovely Demi Moore minus her clothes.
br /
br /To say I was disapointed is an understatement, the storyline is terrible, the only thing the film has going for it, is the fact that Demi takes her clothes off, even then she doesn't go the full monty.
br /
br /This also has to go down as one of Burt Reynolds worst performances in a film ever.
What was this film for? April 3, 2000 John Peter O'connor 27 out of 47 found this review helpful
If anyone knows, please send me an email or something. pThe scenario: Demi Moore takes her clothes off to earn money to support her daughter. pThe plot: some half baked conspiracy twist not worthy even of Starsky and Hutch. pThe acting and script: about level with that of Starsky and Hutch. pIt was not interesting, there was no real suspense. It was most certainly not erotic or even slightly arousing and it wasn't funny either.
Awful March 3, 2004 Primitivus (www) 5 out of 22 found this review helpful
I caught this film on television which was the only good thing about it: I didn't have to spend any money for it. A few minutes into the film I realised I shouldn't have spent any time on it either. I switched the telly off and did the washing up instead, which was much more fun.brBoring and completely unoriginal story, bad (REALLY bad) performances, and unispired direction/storytelling. It wasn't even remotely sexy.
