Amazon.co.uk Review Action-god Jackie Chan does his best James Bond impression with IFirst Strike/i, an ecstatic sequel to the classic ISupercop/I. The bare-bones plot has Chan in pursuit of international terrorists, but the narrative quickly gives way to an unceasing barrage of insane stunt work (including a nitro-fuelled ski chase and a grandiose fight scene set inside a functioning shark tank). As with most of the ageing star's recent films, there is more of an emphasis placed on big, impersonal (albeit impressive) stunts rather than the close-up combat that made him famous; but the end result is still a must-see rush for longtime fans and a great introduction for newcomers eager to see what all the well-deserved fuss is about. The scene where Jackie takes on multiple goons while armed only with a ladder is one of his most jaw-dropping set pieces ever--and that's saying quite a lot. Be sure to stick around for the closing credits of gags gone awry, which graphically prove that Chan is truly the hardest working man in show business. I--Andrew Wright/I

An enjoyable flick for the family August 23, 2000 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Jackie chan at his best again. Enjoyable plot and good humour. What more can i say?
Some of Chan's best stunts make this a must buy. March 12, 2001 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Jackie Chan takes his Police Story character for one last spin. Going undercover and breaking out of prison as he attempts to bring down a dangerous gang of criminals. The story allows Chan to show off his superb fighting skills as well as some of the best set piece stunts on video. Even Yeoh is not to be outdone. Despite her limited training at the time she lands a bike on a moving train. This stunt was set to steal the show so Chan decided to go one better and wrote in his own show stopper with a helicopter.
One of the best fight sequences ever done by Jackie Chan May 15, 2000 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Jackie Chan has done it again! This truly one of Jackie Chans finest new releases. It has a brilliant storyline, extraordinary stunts and some amazing fight sequences that left even me (The no.1 fan) amazed! you have to watch the end ladder fight over and over again! A must for all fans!pArfan Mazhar
Bags of fun! February 25, 2008 Peter Jones (england) This is one of the funniest action films I have seen. The most memorable scenes are of Chan fighting off enemy agents in the snow wearing the silliest woolly hat you've ever seen.

br /There are also great scenes of fighting on the ledge of a skyscraper plus all the usual scrapes and excitement.

br /Easy to watch, plenty of visual jokes and quite a good, if far-fetched, story too.
Superb! July 17, 2008 David Addison (Newcastle upon Tyne England) This is one of my many favourite Jackie Chan films.I found this film really entertaining. Its a tribute to the OO7 movies, and it's great.Jackie gets involved with the bad guys, who fool him into working for them. There are two pretty damsels in dire need of rescue from the bad guys.Annie Wu plays her role very well,as one of them.Of course,Jackie eventually does find out what's going on,and fights back with his usual vigour. There are many highlights for me personally, the Ski chase, the funeral scene, and our hero saving Annie of course!Enjoy.
