Amazon.co.uk Review
IGossip/I is one of a spate of movies that owe a lot to ICruel Intentions/I. This time it's rich kids in college, but other than that IGossip/I stays well within the beautiful-young-people-doing-awful-things-to-each other formula. Lena Heady plays Jones, obviously the Smart Girl because she is briefly seen wearing glasses. Jones hangs out with Arty Guy Travis and Handsome Rich Guy Derrick, who finances their adventures and has a little bit of a lying habit. The three are all in the same journalism class (acidic monologist Eric Bogosian plays the acidic professor) and decide to start and track a rumour for their term papers. They pick rich and beautiful couple Beau and Naomi (Joshua Jackson and Kate Hudson) as the focus of the rumour, and before you know it their juicy story starts spinning out of control into ugly territory and a truly ludicrous climax. There are attempts at making sledgehammer points about the slippery task of finding Truth, but mostly IGossip/I is about the guilty pleasure of watching pretty young actors be mean to each other. You'll hate yourself in the morning, but watch it anyway. --IAli Davis, Amazon.com/I

5 out of 5 stars A very young up coming movie   July 10, 2001

Even though this film hasn't had many reviews, it is one of the best films of its time. Simply because it makes you think! Its all about a group of three law students who spread a nasty romour! A romour which might be harmless at the time, becomes almost deadly and unstopable. What makes this film more catchy, is the person who the romour is based on, actually begins to believe it!! With its twisty ending and brilliant soundtrack, its a film that is worth watching!

5 out of 5 stars Joshua Jackson - Need I Say Anymore? :) Brillaint!!!   December 30, 2000

Gossip is a psychological thriller set in the stereo-typical urban university setting, with a not-so stereo-typical cast. Lena Headey and James Mardsen (Xmen) pair off, weaving intricate plot twisting action through the course of two hours. In her journalism class, Headey decides to begin a rumor about a couple, Kate Hudson (Almost Famous) and Joshau Jackson (Skulls) having sex at an after hours club. The gossip spreads rapidly, and when the rumor gets back to the girl she must decide if it really happened. The plot is well-developed, the casting is genuis and the setting is done well. The loft apartment shared by Mardsen, Headey and a third roommate will make the most artistic person jealous. This movie is NOT your usual college-slash em' two hour waste of film.

I was basically forced to sit down and watch this film by a friend who thought it was great, I didn't know what to expect! - I thought it was a great thought provoking film, I can't understand that why it was not a block buster.....brI def. reccoment this ...

4 out of 5 stars One of the best 'B' movies you'll ever happen upon.   September 14, 2004

I saw this movie on TV first and I was surprised that it hadn't made a bigger showing on the big screen. I wouldn't say that it was the best film I've ever seen, and the criticism that the characters and plot are a bit overly conceited with their own intelligence is not entirely unfair (though doesn't that describe media students). pHowever the casting and direction are excellent. There are some highly recognisable faces and the pace of the story clips along at a good pace. There are twists and turns in the plot that'll have you squirming slightly in your seat as our characters struggle with their scrupples after deliberately spreading lies to see the effect of gossip. To that extent the film acts a morality tale on the effects of the media, how it has a duty to be fair and true to it's public.pThis basic tale, the cast and production all suggest that the film is squarely based at the 'teen' market that so enjoyed 'Scream', and I would say there are plenty of parallels between this film and the horror film. Not to say that those of a more mature generation could not find something in this film to enjoy (though I wouldn't expect too many middle aged people to sit down and watch this with interest), but it has clearly identified it's audience.

3 out of 5 stars Good Film -Unbelievable ending   March 5, 2001

Unbelievable ending in the sense that noone in their right mind would believe it. The ending spoiled a very good film.
