5 out of 5 stars I love this movie!   November 27, 2002

I'm probably biased as this film sees two of my favorite stars working together, the amazingly talented Edward Norton and the comedic brilliance that is Ben Stiller, but I absolutley adore this movie. If you're looking for a deep, incredibly complex storyline and Oscar type performances then this isn't for you. But if you want to sit back with a glass of wine and enjoy a great movie then I'd recommend this wholeheartedly. It is a complete feel good movie that has pleanty of rewatch value and brings something for all ages, along with a great message that no matter what your faith, love can overcome all boundries.

5 out of 5 stars Edward Norton's second gift to the world.   March 3, 2002

Ed Norton is undoubtably one of the finest actors of his generation with a string of powerful performances in modern classics such as Fight Club and American History X. He can also include directing in his list of talents as this film is a magnificent achievement. The casting is fantastic as Ben Stiller, Jenna Elfman and Norton really do seem like the best of buddies. Each of them gives an outstanding performance with is boosted by the often hilarious script. This is a gloriously funny, sweet natured romantic comedy for all ages and the feeling you get after you watch it is priceless. The ultimate feel-good movie. I can confidently say even the most cold hearted will be touched by this gift of a movie.

This is a true masterpiece! As an actor, Edwrad Norton has always impressed me, but he shows even more talent as a Director too. Everything about this movie is brilliant.pIt tells the story of three childhood friends, (Norton, Stiller and Elfman), who have an incredilbly strong bond. Faith moves away but Jake and Brian stay friends and grow up together. They become a Jewish Rabbi and a Catholic Priest. Funny enough on it's own.pFaith comes back into their lives a very successful business woman and wants to catch up on old times with them. She falls in love with Jake and he with her but they decide to keep it a secret so as not to make Brian feel left out.pWhat they don't realise is that Brian has also fallen for Faith. It captures all the funny and painful moments in such a way that you never tire of watching it. We watch in agony as Jake tries to keep his relationship a secret from his parishoners, who all seem to have a beautiful daughter, just Jewish enough for a Rabbi to date.pBrian is feeling things he hasn't felt for a long time and is now questioning his own faith. He eventually finds out that his two best friends have been dating behind his back and goes on a bender. He ends up in a little pub where he tells the wonderfully comical bartender all his woes. pThis is a fantastic film and it will leave you with a huge soppy grin on your chops! This is a movie that should be seen at least once and I suggest you buy it because one viewing won't be enough!!!
