Amazon.co.uk Review ISeason 7:/I lots happened behind the scenes between seasons and early on in the seventh year of the hit comedy, leaving audiences speculating this might be the last. Perry became seriously ill again, and returned looking more emaciated than ever. Cox regained weight, but despite finishing IScream 3/I happily, things were already rocky with David Arquette. Much was made in the press about Aniston marrying Brad Pitt, of course, but the real news (allaying fans' fears) was NBC's expensive renewal of the cast for two years at $750,000 per episode each (more than six times their previous increase). Onscreen, at least there was Chandler and Monica's engagement lasting the whole year, despite predictable ups and downs (eg: "T.O.W. the Truth About London" revealing that Monica fancied Joey). By the time we finally get to "T.O.W. Chandler's Dad" (Kathleen Turner!), it seems inevitable that the two-part finale will be an insane mess--but with a happy-ish ending. Sure enough, "T.O.W. Chandler and Monica's Wedding" features Gary Oldman joining in the chaos as Chandler repeatedly goes missing. Other star turns in the year were ISeinfeld/I's Jason Alexander as a suicidal Office Manager, Susan Sarandon as soap queen bitch Jessica Lockhart, Denise Richards as one of Ross and Monica's endless number of cousins and Winona Ryder as a surprise old friend, prompting "T.O.W. Rachel's Big Kiss". But perhaps the most telling instalment of this weirdly atmospheric year was "T.O.W. They All Turn Thirty". It suggested that maybe the Friends are all getting too old to carry on living their frivolous lives the same way after all. --IPaul Tonks/I

These are episodes are nothing special but are something whatsoever funny.pT.O.W all the candybrMonica decides to do something nice for all the people in the apartments and, in the spirit of christmas, makes them free candy. When they all love the candy she gets the whole apartments building waiting outside her apartment for more.br****pT.O.W the holiday AmadillobrRoos tries to get Ben interested in Hanuka as they are part Jewish for Christmas. Ross tries, but fails to rent out a Santa costume and has to settle for an Amadillo one. So Chandler turns up wearing Santa instead of Ross and Chandler makes Ben focus on Santa and then Joey randomly comes as Superman. Meanwhile Pheobe's apartment is ready after being burnt down and she is worried that Rachel won't want to move back in with her because she's having alot of fun at Joey's; so Pheobe tries to drive her out.br*****pT.O.W they're up all nightbr Ross takes everyone (including Tad) up to the roof to see a comet that can only be seen every 70 or so years. Everyone except Ross and Joey go back down and then those two get locked up on the roof. Meanwhile Rachel forgot to send out something at work so she and Tad go back to the office to check. And Monica and Chandler just can't sleep.br***pT.O.W the cheescakesbrChandler picks up a cheesecake left outside someone's apartment door and decides to eat it. Rachel also tries some and they find it delicious. Then they kept on getting them and become obsessed with them. br*****pIn my view one of the best series 7 DVDs. A must have for your 'Friends' collection
Where has the charm gone? June 20, 2001 BRETT BENNETT-SMITH (England) 3 out of 14 found this review helpful
The series is going along at a steady pace with these episodes, but sadly the standard is falling. Are the characters becoming stale? Are the writers running out of ideas? Either way, something needs to be done fast! These episodes are good for devoted fans only. The quality of them would not attract new fans. Isn't it about time they started growing up and gained some intelligence?
