Amazon.co.uk Review From the moment IYogacise/I begins--with adorning shots of a heavily made-up Jerry Hall--it's hard to take it seriously. The brainwave of teacher Vimla Lalvani is a combination of the ancient system of yoga and stretching and is intended to help urban stressful living. However, Lalvani and celebrity student Jerry Hall seem to be appealing to an older, wealthy lady whose stress comes from where to lunch.p Aside from working out the fusion between yoga and stretching (isn't yoga based on stretching?), the format of the video is difficult to follow. With a multitude of graphics competing for attention, and the constant switch between three set locations (resembling Christmas Grottos), this is stressful viewing. Added to this is the fact that for the majority of the programme Lalvani and Hall face each other--a profile view of the positions is difficult to replicate if you're a beginner. The addition of a voice-over makes it hard to coordinate the movements. p Vimla Lalvani is an established teacher with no need for gimmicks and it would have been far more interesting to see the Jerry Hall we don't know, rather than Mick Jagger's ex-missus looking like she's on the set of a hair and make-up ad. --ILorna V/I

| Customer Reviews: an old favourite April 11, 2009 Jjburrows (Wales-Gwent) I bought this to replace the video that I've had for a few years so I'm a fan and was pleased to find extras on it. Its possibly more aimed at beginners than experts but I've progressed with doing the positions and thats enough for me.
A good introduction to yoga December 30, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this DVD as part of a fitness compliation set and thought that it would be the perfect opportunity to get into Yoga. To be honest, I'm never sure about exercise videos which are endorsed by celebrities but in this one it was useful having Jerry Hall since she helped demonstrate the techniques of yoga for those new to this.pThe instructor was easy to understand which was useful particularly when you are in the wheel position with your head and stomach arched towards the ceiling so there was no need to keep stopping to check what they were doing.pThe DVD is split into several parts; a warm-up; a morning yoga phase; a traditional yoga position phase; and a de-stressing phase for the evening after a long day. Splitting these up into chapters means that you can dip in and out of each one depending on your mood and time of day which is handy.pI'm not the best at keeping to a regime but I think that with this DVD I will be able to improve my flexibility and breathing as well as my overall fitness without getting bored.pI would recommend this as a complimentary DVD to your existing fitness programme. I have a number of others which I alternate between and I will be using this to break up my aerobic activities.
