Chilling January 12, 2004 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
when a mother of two hears the brutal murder of her eldest daughter down the phone she thinks her world has fallen apart. when the killer of her daughter is realeased due to a 'technical hitch' the determination for justice and revenge shows through as this ordinary mother turns away from the law and towards more effective methods. this film is believable which is rare with revenge plots and extreamily well acted. keifer suderland manages to disgust me and sally field plays a women losing it and dangerously close to the edge very well.pthis movie guides the viewer through the reality of a grief striken family and demonstrates the strength of maternal instinct but also the psychological effect trauma has. this film has the power to anger any viewer and holds your attention throughout. well worth a watch.
Gripping and Fabulous September 6, 2006 silverhatter (Shropshire, England) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
With Keifer Sutherland starring you can't go far wrong. This was superbly acted by both Kiefer and Sally Field. I am not usually too keen on Sally Field, but she was excellent in this role. It was riveting the way she continued her battle to get justice for her daughter. Keifer is mean and bad, unlike his Jack Bauer character in the 24 series. Well recommended to all, especially Keifer fans.
what a film August 4, 2006 Steven J. W. Trowell 2 out of 8 found this review helpful
i actually whatched this filme the other nite in bed on tv and when the film started i was hooked. the thing with this film was that it held the story of the film together which is very rare with some films like this. the thing that got me with this great film was how disturbed i was when the daughter was killed when her mum was on the other end of the phone hearing her daughter die in a horrifc way. but then we see what happens after when we see the mum of the girl go throw what people hope not to go throw. and how she gets her revenge on the man the killed her daughter

Proove It ! January 28, 2009 Cassie Allas (Derby, UK) This film really makes you think. You can understand the frustration and anger that Karen McCann portrays at the detective for not cooperating with her. The fact that a legal technocality lets Robert Doob walk free when the evidence is positive that he should locked away.
br /I love that Karen cannot and will not let the matter go. The detective is useless and unable to help her or other victims that Robert does eventually go far.
br /More fascinating is the scene where Robert Doob entertains Karen's 6 year old while playing in a playhouse. He only chats and jokes to her, but it's knowing whom and what he does that doesn't seem to bother him. More importantly the teacher doesn't notice this and luckily the child is unhurt and none the wiser by her. For any parent this scene could be quite intimidating.
Solid thriller! July 7, 2009 Mr. A. J. Ralph (Torquay,England) Kiefer Sutherland has never been more evil.He plays a paedophile who rapes and murders a womans teenage daughter. When the police neglect to take action the mother of the deceased takes the law into her own hands.

br /The action is intense and the movie in general is chilling to the bone!
