Amazon.co.uk Review
The writing-directing team of Charles Shyer and Nancy Meyers (IFather of the Bride/I) made this sweet satire about a high-powered yuppie executive (Diane Keaton) who unexpectedly becomes a mom and finds she can't successfully integrate the role into her busy life. Typical of the Shyer-Meyers films prior to Myers taking the director's reins on the wonderful IParent Trap/I, IBaby Boom/I is a little wooden and more sentimental than genuine. But there are entertaining moments, for sure, and Keaton is a delight. I--Tom Keogh/I

5 out of 5 stars Favourite Film of All Time   August 9, 2002

This film is my absoulute favourite. I have watched it so many times I know all the words - sad, I know. It's definately a film for anyone who likes a bit of sentimentality and cheese and is watchable repeatedly, so worth getting on DVD. Probably a girls film really.pThe story is about the savvy buisiness woman (Diane Keaton) who inherits a distant relatives baby and has to change her life to accomodate her. It's got a cheezy happy ending which always cheers me up!pAlso stars Sam Shepard (Pelican Brief), Harold Ramis (Spengler - Ghostbusters), James Spader (Stargate), Pat Hingle (Commisioner Gordon - Batman) and Sam Wanamaker.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful heartwarming film!   August 14, 2008
C. Finch (London)
This film is one of my favourites. For many reasons but the superb performance from Diane Keaton and the gorgeous little Elizabeth are the two main ones. This film just warms your heart so much, you can't help but have a smile on your face the whole way through. I agree it's much more of a girlie film and may be considered a bit sickly sweet but some but I enjoy every moment, I can watch it again and again. Plus JC's 80s powersuits rock!

5 out of 5 stars Love this film   May 2, 2009
Shoesy (France)
I absolutely love this film - watched this years ago when it was shown on television, and then I just had to buy it when it came out on DVD. It has a great story and I think Diane Keaton really shines (as does the baby!), and together it makes this film memorable. I don't know exactly which bit appeals to me the most - whether it's that Diane Keaton's character - J.C. Wiatt, not only manages to take on the challenge of suddenly becoming a mother (after inheriting a baby!) but also when she as good as puts two fingers up to her old employers, when she starts her own extremely successful baby food business in the country, and she shows them that she really can "have it all" (which you'll understand better when you watch this film). This film comes highly recommended, and is one that you will watch over and over again.

My absolute favourite. Funny, sweet and so entertaining. I have to say I don't like Diane Keaton but this movie is great!!!
