Amazon.co.uk Review The ISex and the City/I phenomenon continues in Series 3 of this outrageously addictive cult show. The four highly sexed thirtysomethings share their hopes, fears and even boyfriends (when Charlotte decides to throw a "used boyfriend party") in a New York where you can buy Manolo Blahniks on the proceeds of one article a week and eat mountains of junk food yet stay as thin as a pencil. But if the peripheral details remain somewhat fantastical, the searing honesty of the main storyline takes this third season to dramatic heights only suggested by the previous seasons. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) falls head-over-heels for chunky furniture designer Aidan Joff (John Corbett) but still embarks on a disastrous affair with her newlywed ex, Mr Big (Chris Noth). The resulting triangle, set against the background of Charlotte's outwardly perfect marriage to Trey (Kyle MacLachlan), proves to be electrifying viewing. But the humour is as sharp as ever too: Samantha's run-in with her drag-queen prostitute neighbours, Miranda pretending to be an air stewardess so as not to frighten men away and one of Charlotte's boyfriends talking dirty to her in bed are all moments of great high comedy. It just gets better and better. --IWarwick Thompson/I

The Best series? February 29, 2004 D. J. Baird (Edinburgh, Scotland) 21 out of 23 found this review helpful
I love series 3 of Sex and the City. It seems to be the best mix of drama and comedy, and there are a few episode which are just hilarious. The links between the sences; when Carrie "narrates" what's happening have always been a great little feature in their own right. I do think all the DVDs could be padded out with some commentary or interviews with the writers, it would just bring in an added dimension. Having said that, the girls on their own are plenty to entertain you for hours - when my discs arrived everything else was put on hold until I'd watched almost an entire series in one sitting!brParticular favourite episodes from this series? It has to be when Carrie asks in her colom: "Are we Sluts?" and the episode enttitled "Easy Come, Easy Go", when Samantha meets the guy who is less than delicious! There are also issues of a more serious nature, addressed, for women everywhere to identify with. Miranda and Steve split up, but still stay together. And Charlotte's marriage quest pays off.pAll in all a balanced series and well worth the purchase.
The girls just keep getting better March 13, 2002 Charlie (charliederoche@hotmail.com) (England-London) 18 out of 21 found this review helpful
Reaffirming all that is insecure about the 21st Century woman yet offering security in its honesty. This series of Sex and The City lives up to all that have come before it.brThe emotional attachments to the leading men (all of whom are gorgeous) have matured, tantalising the viewer with more commitment than ever before seen by our Sex and The City Girls- although the dress sense still resembles that of only fiction.brThe series is yet another masterpiece and is an essential to every womans make-up.
SEXY February 18, 2002 16 out of 21 found this review helpful
I have followed the sexperiences of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda from the beginning. In this series they each seem to come into their own. Carrie isn't with Big, then she is and then she realises that they should just be friends. Charlotte finally gets her MR Right (or does she?) Samantha is, well, Samantha and Miranda and Steve are so great together but just don't know it.pThis series is one of the best. i especially liked the scene early on in the series with Samantha and a fireman....pTry it....You might like it.
THE BEST SHOW ON TV February 15, 2002 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Sex And The City is simply the best show on TV, and this the third series is the best so far. Sarah Jessica Parker is fantastic as Carrie and is easily the best actress on TV at the moment, she is also wonderfully supported by Kristen Davies as Charlotte, Kim Catrall as Samantha and Cynthia Dixon as Miranda. If you haven't seen this programme yet i urge you to give it a try. One episode and your hooked i guarnantee it!!
Excellent Series February 21, 2002 6 out of 13 found this review helpful
I have seen this series originally broadcast in the US on HBO (and thus assume that the videos are identical) and it was the best season to date - better than the first two. The most interesting character to me is Charlotte who we watch go through the ups and downs of courtship and marriage.brEnjoy!
