Amazon.co.uk Review
This IGreatest Hits/I compilation charts the period (1987-92) in Kylie's career when there was the most rapid change in both her image and music. Every single promo she made during her PWL period is featured, including the previously unreleased videos for "Made in Heaven" and "Celebration". Although the track listing is out of sequence, if watched in chronological order the distinct stylistic phases of Minogue over this five-year period soon become evident. From the cute bubble-perm Kylie of the "I Should Be So Lucky" era, to the sex-Kylie phase that commenced with 1990's "Better the Devil You Know", the videos represent all her early incarnations. p Her fashion disasters are also recorded, too, such as the bizarre outfit and shoes she wore for "Got to be Certain" and the Parisian wartime look adopted for "Je ne sais pas pourquoi". Her most outrageous but greatest video moment is where she parodies certain movie stars in the chic video for "What Do I Have to Do?", and because of her heavy eye make-up almost earns herself the title drag-queen Kylie (watch out for sister Dannii who briefly stars in the video, wearing a blonde wig). All in all it's an excellent collection for those wanting a visual introduction to early Kylie, and/or those too young to remember her first time round. p BOn the DVD:/B IKylie Greatest Hits/I unearths some very rare pieces of Kylie history and the producers of the DVD have gone out of their way to make the compilation as comprehensive as possible. However, the transfer quality is not much better than awful, both for rarities and more popular material such as "Especially for You". Diehard fans will be pleased, though, by the majority of the videos from the late-1980s including vintage personal introductions from Kylie about the making of the promos etc. Other bonus features include the videos for the Australian versions of "Locomotion" and "Word Is Out", and alternate promos of "Got to be Certain", and "I Should Be So Lucky". --IJohn Galilee/I

5 out of 5 stars Classic Kylie At Her Best.   November 21, 2002

Ignore the fuss over the coverart - this DVD is must-have stuff for any Kylie fan. It features all the videos from the PWL era (including the scare Made In Heaven and Celebration), plus some truly fantastic bonus material. Particularly impressive are the alternative versions of I Should Be So Lucky and Got To Be Certain (both previously unavailable on any release - anywhere) and the Aussie version of the Locomotion video. If that weren't enough, Kylie The Videos parts 1 and 2 and Let's Get To...The Videos are also there, handily chopped up to sit alongside the clips. There's also a previously unseen Behind-The-Scenes documenatry for Never Too Late.brMy only complaint would be that a few of the videos are rather poorly transfered, with Especially For You in particular suffering from some awful contrast control. But, ignore this minor flaw and BUY IT TODAY!!! It'll make you glad you own a DVD player.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic compilation of Kylie's videos from her 87-92 era   December 2, 2002

This DVD features an extensive collection of the videos she released between 1987 and 1992, when she was signed to the PWL record label. If you're looking for her most recent stuff, you won't find it here, but if you enjoy classic Kylie, you will definitely enjoy this release.pHere you'll find the videos for ALL her PWL singles, including the US single "It's No Secret" and the video for the double A-side to "Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi", "Made In Heaven" + the rare video for "Celebration", which was previously available only in the Japanese release of the "Greatest Hits" video from 1992.pYou will also find alternate videos for:p- "I Should Be So Lucky" (the "car" version)br- "Locomotion" (the original australian version of the song, Kylie's very first video)br- "Hand On Your Heart" (live from her "Enjoy Yourself" / "Disco In Dreams" tour)br- "Got To Be Certain" ("paintings" version)br- "Got To Be Certain" ("location only" version)br- "Word Is Out" (the video for the Summer Breeze mix)p+ Small intros / Interviews for:p- "I Should Be So Lucky"br- "The Loco-Motion"br- "Hand On Your Heart"br- "Got To Be Certain"br- "Better The Devil You Know"br- "Wouldn't Change A Thing"br- "Never Too Late"br- "What Do I Have To Do"br- "Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi"br- "Step Back In Time"br- "Tears On My Pillow"br- "It's No Secret"p+ behind the scenes footage from "Never Too Late"p+ a photo gallery (with the instrumental version of "Turn It Into Love" played in the background)p+ a list of Kylie's discographypI think you can tell that the people behind this release put a lot of effort in trying to include as many bonus material as they could. Be warned, however, that the quality of the DVD transfer of a couple of the videos ("Especially For You" and "Got To Be Certain") is not as good as it could be (the first one is too bright and the second one looks kinda blurry at places).pOverall this is a fantastic release and a must have for any Kylie fan, any PWL fan or any pop collector in general, it shows you Kylie's evolution from her "Locomotion" days to the beginning of her more "mature" phase and it's definitely a pop classic.pTotally recommended!

This superb DVD includes all of Kylie's early hits with PWL. From I Should Be So Lucky, The Loco-Motion, Got To Be Certain, through to her later and more sexy videos such as Better The Devil You Know, Shocked, What Do I Have To Do and What Kind Of Fool. Included here are some very dodgy alternative versions. The best being Kylie being driven round in a car miming I Should Be So Lucky and then dancing round a park in 5" high heels much to the amusment of on-lookers! Also included for the first time ever is the Celebration video. Which was Kylie's final PWL single as well as a great online videography with details of where they were shot etc. This is an essential release and a must have for fans of the Stock Aitken Waterman era.

O.K. so this is another Kylie cash in, and they are cheesy pop songs/videos, but they are the ones that made Kylie who she is today...Kylie long ago, stopped being embarrassed about these songs. From "Lucky" right the way through to "Celebration". Which for the first time is included on any SAW video release. We also get rare video "Made in Heaven" as well as U.S release "it's no Secret". It is really interesting to watch the change, when Kylie took more control over her videos, from the bubble gum "Lucky" to the more sexy "Shocked". Admittletly the later videos are better to watch, but it's great to finally have these on DVD. So sit back and relax and marvel how Kylie has transformed herself to the performer we have today...
