5 out of 5 stars Not the trash that people say   June 30, 2005

I just wanted to set the record straight......This isn't the trashy, exploitation film some people make out it is....yes, there is a little nudity - big deal! Everything featured in the film is in context, and not done for the sake of exploitation. Asia argento's first directorial debut is a thoughtful and well produced film of tragedy and "the damaged individual". If you are a fan of "film", then watch this fresh example. If you are a fan of Asia's, then definately watch this film, and maybe you will understand her better, as it takes the spectator deep into the thoughts of one of films most underrated actresses and director. I hope Asia keeps doing what she does, cause the world needs some fresh eyes and fresh talent expressed. Watch this film.

5 out of 5 stars shame that it ended   March 17, 2008

for starters, im in2 films that are about people, just ordinary, no special effects, no hype, no gansta rappers, rudeboyz or explosions or so called stars... you know the kinda thing that kevin spacey makes look easy... just ordinary life and whatever is thrown in the mix. Whilst its totally different and not related at all, if your the kinda person who likes classics like the breakfast club, you might find a lot of film value here. I took the advice from the 5-star rating chap who reviewed this and purchased the film. I have to say i wasnt disappointed. Its an excellent, different and very interesting piece of film. Its not quite as appealing as B Monkey, which is the first Asia film ive seen but, you will be intrigued and interested sufficiently if you like this genre. If this is not your type of genre, you might just glaze over and become bored very quickly. I find it like marmite, you will either love it or hate it. br / br /5 stars from me - enjoy ;)

4 out of 5 stars Innovative   August 9, 2007

Unflinchingly honest, graphic, intriguing, original, salacious, sexy sleazy, moving... The descent of a lonely Italian starlet in to bad sex, drugs and personal Hell. If you have an IQ that reaches double figures (unlike other reviewers) and like Asia Argento, you'll love this. She directed, wrote stars in it.

3 out of 5 stars Interesting   August 4, 2004

A feast of violence and naked flesh, not altogether unlike "Baise-moi", but on the softer side. Asia Argento shines as the rising actress, but she is more often than not let down by a slim plotline and the generally low quality of the production.

2 out of 5 stars introspective   July 20, 2005

i bought this because i had seen the writer in another movie and recognised her from also having been in la reine margot some years ago. sadly, i found little to recommend here, bar the curiosity factor - it is introspective, poorly edited, rambling and unconvincing on the whole...
