| Customer Reviews: Great fun September 7, 2009 Richard Cross 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
How Armand Assante manages to keep a straight face through this I have no idea. This movie parodies a whole range of movies without (mostly) descending to the typical Nation Lampoon's level. We originally recorded this off TV on VHS but the tape wore out after many replayings so when I saw it going cheap in an Amazon sale I just had to get it. A great laugh.
good comedy January 4, 2004 Lain (Manchester, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Funny spoof from Carl Reiner. Different in style and content from his earlier works with Steve Martin (Jerk, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid and The Man With Two Brains). This is much more in the style of Naked Gun, Loaded Weapon and HotShots. For some reason this is nowhere near as famous as the others, but it is just as good and if you like them, then you can't go wrong with this. brHard to rate this because overall it's only a spoof so not worthy of any special attention, but as far as spoofs go it's one of the better ones! 4/5 if you compare it to other slapstck comedies.
Fatal Attraction/Basic Instinct and them some October 23, 2002 bernie (Arlington, Texas) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Finally a movie that has a good plot that follows through to the end. Many films starting with #8220;Airplane#8221; became over the top parodies. Yet most of them were vehicles for one-liners. This Movie actually has a structure and ability for running gags. We learn many legal concepts like triple indemnity, and visuals on how to buff buns. You barley have time to catch your breath. At other moments you know what is has to happen and at the last minute find that you are being set up from the beginning.pAll the actors fit the characters they play. I have to say I have always been fascinated by Sean Young so it took a little time to see her as Lola Cain. Her relation ship to the other characters helps you understand motive and her risqué messing around taught me many new terms.pLaura Lincolnberry (Sherilyn Fenn) plays an exaggerated perfect secretary with a past, adding to the layer of complexity and her encounter with Lola Cain has to be seen.
