5 out of 5 stars Brilliant - Roger Moore at his Best   September 10, 2003

What an amazing Movie! Roger Moore plays, unusually, a woman hating, cat loving, commando who is asked by the government to rescue an oilrig and supply ship from terrorists. pI first saw this movie in the mid 1980's on TV in the UK and recorded it! My family were all delighted, as was I, when I discovered that it was available on DVD. (The DVD comes with next to no features, but I thought that the movie alone was worth it!) brI will watch this one many times, and not tire of it. The wit and humour is clever and there is plenty of action too. There is no sex, language or unnecessary violence, which is unusual these days!pI heartily recommend this one, whether you are a Roger Moore fan or not!

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely quality action/thriller/comedy   December 16, 2008

If you want to watch a movie, that movie producers would struggle to put on the market today, then get this! br / br /Moore plays a woman hating, semi-alcoholic rude man, who hates nothing more then relationships. His two passions, adventure and cats! lol br / br /He is a bomb disposal expert, and has a team in training which he makes to look thoroughly useless at the end i might add! br / br /An absolutely quality movie that i would totally recomend...

5 out of 5 stars Roger Moore is great fun, the villians are dastardly the cats are cute   October 12, 2009

Great wide screen copy of this non James Bond outing and clearly Roger Moore is having fun! Basic plot of bad guys so dastardly that they are from a comic book the hero is so eccentric it's almost a comedy, but it's too much fun to pass by.

4 out of 5 stars Good for Sunday afternoons.   July 26, 2000

A wonderful Sunday afternoon film - the sort of film that requires no significant concentration but is hightly entertaining. The cast is strong with Moore's eyebrows being supported by Anthony Perkins and James Mason amongst others. The story is improbable, the acting is totally over the top but the film is very enjoyable!

4 out of 5 stars Esther, Ruth and Jeniffer.   August 25, 2008

Given the restrictions between a book and a film this one is a fairly good rendition. i bought the book many, many years ago at a market and recently re-read it which compelled me to buy the DVD. br / br /Roger Moore is perfect as the chauvanistic ffolkes and carries his characters confident arrogance well. if there is one draw back though and that is Anthony Perkins who i feel would have been better cast as the explosives expert (bad guy) as opposed to the leading bad guy. br / br /that aside this is a really good film and could have been the basis for another roger moore series like the saint etc. br / br /if you love old movies then you could not go wrong by adding this to your collection.
