| Customer Reviews: It's hard to be tender... November 25, 2003 Sami El Alam (Limassol, Cyprus) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
Sins: brGreat package with three DVD's including 7 episodes from the acclaimed TV mini series. The only minus is the awful transfer, it seems that the movie was taken from some old VHS. Many flaws, pixelization apparent most of the time. They should be ashamed of releasing such a movie with this terrible sound and Video quality.brLavish production sets filming locations (New York City, Paris, Venice, Italy). Joan Collins changes 85 costumes (by Valentino). This set a record for most costume changes in one production. Francis Lai takes charge of the soundtrack. Title song performed by Carly Simon, "It's hard to be tender". brThere are enough stars for 10 movies. Joan Collins, Timothy Dalton, Marisa Beresnson, Gene Kelly, Joseph Bologna, Jean-Piere Aumont, James Farentino, Giancarlo Giannini, Steven Berkoff, Paul Freeman, French chanteuse Regine... and the list goes and goes.
Enjoyable '80s glossy miniseries August 2, 2004 Scott A. Humphries (Australia) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
The '80s were the era of the miniseries - big name (for TV anyway) stars, theme songs by well-known singers, international locations - it was all there. The miniseries was the visual form of the blockbuster novel, a genre that seems sadly lost to all us TV junkies now. The classics of this wickedly enjoyable genre included "Lace", "Hollywood Wives", "Deceptions", "Scruples" - and "Sins". Only the latter has been released on glossy DVD - so far - and you should lap it up while it is available.p"Sins" is a perfect example of classy trash. Starring then TV queen Joan Collins, this slickly produced sudser features an incredible all-star cast, a deliciously implausible story, exotic and beautiful locations, and a record 85 costumes changes for Joan. Carly Simon sings the theme song.pAlthough the discs are oddly edited into 7 "episodes" (why not just show it in the 3 parts it was originally broadcast in?), the DVD is reasonable (although the "extras" are rather lacklustre).pSnap it up before it is deleted.
Brilliant and powerful 80's miniseries full of suspense March 15, 2009 G. A. M. Meerveld (Antwerp, Belgium) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Brilliant and powerful 80's miniseries full of suspense with many great actors, with Joan Collins as the queen actor - she is the best.
Return to the 1980s... May 30, 2009 K. I. Quintyne (Dublin , IRELAND) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
An interesting set of light entertainment based on a good novel...

br /It will serve as GREAT amusement to anyone with a sense of irony - given the fact that Joan Collins is playing an 18 year old when she was in her mid-50s... talk about delusions...

br /Worth the viewing for the celeb spotting...
