accidental spy is a nice surprise May 27, 2004 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The accidental spy took me by surprise. It has a really tacky cover but when i watched i was pleasently surprised at its complexity and the exciting plot. The action is great and Jackie Chan still impresses!!! Worth watching if you have some mates round. I was confused by the front cover because after watching the film i realised that three of the people on the cover do not even appear in the film and Jackie Chans costume was not worn in the film!!!
Nice bottom April 26, 2004 Sebastian Seal (Farne Islands, U.K.) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is an under-rated and under-publicised film. Us seals enjoyaction-packed films, and me my phocine friends are big fans of JackieChan. We weren't disappointed by this film.brThe "spy" bit is not in the sense of James Bond. The story is no moreviolent than other Jackie Chan films and has a sense of humour, but italso contains some disturbing aspects which make the plot quite serious. There is a fair amount of fighting and lots of chasing without resortingto obvious wire or camera tricks, and in this respect it is better thanThe Tuxedo or The Medallion.brThe subplots are, as seems to be becoming more common in Jackie's films, full of human elements. They warm the cockles of your heart, so to speak, even if the microwave is on the blink so you have to eat cold kippers forsupper. An advantage of living in the sea is that when you cry at a sadpart of the film (and there is a very sad bit in it), nobody notices. Usseals are always crying, mostly because we're full of blubber.brThroughout much of the film there are things to laugh at, sometimes thesituation, sometimes the slapstick, and sometimes the inventiveness of thefight and chase scenes. People who like to see bare bottoms will enjoy oneof Jackie's more interesting chases, and I can confirm that his bottomappears to be barnacle-free.brAnyway, anybody who likes Jackie Chan (or his bottom) has to buy this;it's their duty, and I'm sure it'll be one of their favourites.

He can still do it. October 13, 2004 M. Jump (Torpoint , Cornwall) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a relief to see that Jackie can still pull it off without 'The Medallion' style effects. This film has the comedy and human warmth of most of his recent films, but he plays a slightly darker character, who is to start with motivated by money rather than by doing good deeds. The action is as well made as ever, such as the exciting climax and the naked fight scene involving all the colourful spices, which is fun and full of the Chan touch. It's no Police Story but it's as good as First Strike.
Jackie Kicks it in Trukey May 2, 2004 Mike McNulty (Rabat, Morocco) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Another action packed comdey with jackie chan. This is like most other jackie chan movies tons, and tons of martial arts, jackie being pulled into something without him knowing, the only thing thats different is that most of the film is located in Turkey. A funny, action movie, that is a goods night entertainment.
