Good all-round workout that really works!!!!! August 1, 2004 A BIG FAN OF THE BODY WORKOUT (Sunderland, Tyne Wear United Kingdom) 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
This workout dvd is the best I have tried. It combines 3 aerobic sections with 3 strengthening and toning sections. Each section is alternated so that you don't get bored (or too tired), and they are all fun to do - not at all repetitive. It targets all areas of your body and spends just enough time on each one.pThe sections are as follows:br1)Warm Upbr2)Aerobics 1br3)Legs and Buttbr4)Aerobics 2br5)Upper Bodybr6)Aerobics 3br7)Abs and Backbr8)Cool DownpI always feel that I get a good workout, and I am quite fit, but I really think that it is suitable for people of all levels of fitness. It is really easy to follow and the best thing about this workout that it only takes 60 minutes to do from beginning to end which means that you can easily fit it into your daily routine (no excuses!).pI lost over a stone in 3 months by doing this workout 3-4 times a week (and eating healthily). I am now a size 10 and I am the most toned I have ever been (I actually have muscle definition!).pI really would not hesitate to recommend this workout to anyone.
Still the best workout DVD around! February 5, 2007 Looking for the good life (Hampshire, UK) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I bought this on VHS about four years ago and it still the best workout DVD I've ever used! I've been through them all - Cindy Crawford, Aerobics Oz Style, Tae Bo, pilates, yoga, salsa... the list is endless, but Elle is the one I go back to every time.

br /I'm in pretty good shape, but this is challenging enough to get my heart rate right up - overall at about 75% of maximum, (which is an ideal aerobic rate, especially is you're looking to shift that extra weight!) but the final cardio section takes me up to 95%. If however you're not used to working out you can easily hold back on the cardio sessions and work at your own level - just make your movements smaller and you'll find it perfectly easy. The third (last) cardio session is the hardest - they throw a few jumps in here, but if you cut out the jumps and keep it low-impact you'll be fine.

br /The conditioning exercises are effective and the instruction is very clear, which avoids risk of injury. You need some small weights for the conditioning sessions, and you can get a pair of those for about £5 in Argos/Amazon.

br /This is the only DVD apart from Billy Blanks' Tae Bo that works me hard enough to make it a substitute for going to the gym. The Tae Bo DVDs are HARDCORE and I just can't face them most of the time, so I needed something a notch below that!

br /I can't recommend this enough. WHATEVER your fitness level, you will get a good workout.
A workout for those who hate working out August 26, 2004 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I hate workout videos. I hate them with a passion. Actually, I hate working out. And dieting. And tall, skinny, good-looking fitness Nazis in lycra, barking at me via the tv screen.pBut...I also hate not fitting into my clothes, getting out of breath walking to the car and having an arse that resembles a bath-sponge. So in a moment of madness, I bought this dvd, fully expecting that, given my usual levels of persistence and dedication to fitness, I would use it once or twice, then give up and do something more instantly gratifying. Like eating some doughnuts and having a cigarette.pHowever, it has now been just over a month since I bought this, and I have managed to drag myself out of bed and start the day with this workout at least four mornings per week. This is definitely a record for me. So, I really recommend this dvd to anyone like me, who is not particularly a fitness fanatic, and is maybe looking for a good beginners' workout that they'll be able to stick with.pThe workout alternates shortish sessions of simple aerobics with body-toning work using light weights, so it doesn't get tedious. The commentary from the "instructors" is kept fairly basic and factual, which is a blessing, as too many cheery, encouraging comments can become irritating after the 10th viewing. (Although, during one of the bits that focus on toning your bum, I always enjoy a little snorty laugh at Elle McPherson saying "this is the bit I REALLY need to do" Yeah, and I'm a supermodel, Elle-baby...!) The workout ends with a great unwinding, stretching session, which uses some yoga-type moves, and really makes you feel great after the exertion.pEssentially, I recommend this dvd because (a) it's doable for a 38 year old unfit beginner with high blood pressure and (b) If you stick at it, it works. It really works. In just a few weeks I am fitter and more toned, I've dropped a dress size, and I feel heaps better.pEnjoy.
WORK IT, FEEL IT, SEE IT!!!! January 16, 2004 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I have been doing this workout now for a couple of years and am absolutely delighted that it has now been re-released on DVD format. The workout is a great all over body programme combining tonning, shapping and aerobic exercise with an "old vibe" soundtrack i.e INXS! This workout definately worked for me and worked fast!!! After 4 months every other day sessions using the tape I dropped a couple of dress sizes and am now a size 8-10. Not to say that it will work for everyone, but you certainly need to keep working at it for the workout to work!! I LOVE IT!!
easy exercises with excellent instruction October 29, 2005 Miss Victoria Gent (Fareham, Hampshire United Kingdom) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This is a great exercise dvd which concentrates on overall fitness and toning the body rather than intense workouts. It consists of a good warm up and then an aerobics section which lasts for 6-8 minutes and then a sculpting session, like work on the legs, bum, abdomen and arms (format: warm up, aeorbics, legs and bum, aerobics, upper body, aerobics, abs and back and a cool down). It follows this easy format of aerobics then slow work with toning and firming of the body for the next 6-8 mins. You can do the dvd straight through the first time you use it - its only 45 mins for the total workout.pIt is a great work out which leaves you relaxed and energised. I would recommend to anyone who isn#x27;t fitness mad and has not regularly worked out before, but is looking to improve fitness, stamina and tone and firm all the right places!
