Amazon.co.uk Review
The "sophmore jinx" hit hard for this second film by Kevin Smith, whose debut IClerks/I transcended the limits of its setting and budget to become memorably funny and a cult classic. (Smith followed IMallrats/I with the wonderful IChasing Amy/I, only to be cursed again with the appalling IDogma/I. Clearly he's settling into the same one-off rhythm that afflicts the IStar Trek/I movies.) A ramshackle comedy set in a mall, IMallrats/I follows several storylines involving lovers, enemies, friends, goofballs, and Smith's own character "Silent Bob", who also appeared in all the other Smith films. A heavy self-consciousness weighs on everything, as if Smith forgot how to make obscenity funny instead of tedious. Still, it's nice to see some of the director's film family on screen, among them Ben Affleck before he was famous, Jason Lee and Joey Lauren Adams. --ISally Chatsworth/I

5 out of 5 stars Say, Would YOU Like a Chocolate Covered Pretzel?   March 14, 2004

If you only learn one thing in life let it be this: Critics do't always get it right. Go with your feelings as to wether you will enjoy something and you will probably be correct. Critics HATED this film, and yey here it is still selling 10 years later. Kevin Smith is a genius in my book, but had I listened to those damn critics I may never have realised as he still gets very little coveage in the UK. I love this kind of thing! The humour is so sharp and the film is like a cartoon or comic. Check this out and enjoy.

I am actually disgusted by the Amazon review, it said that Dogma was bad........Dogma...Bad? i dont think so, this movie is a masterpiece, forget tarantino, forget woo, forget wright, smith is the bomb at making movies, and this is a classic!

5 out of 5 stars IF YOU DON'T ALREADY OWN THIS FILM BUY IT NOW!   April 1, 2003

This film is another masterpiece in comedy by Kevin Smith.brThe story of mallrats centres around 2 friends - T.S Broadie, who have both recently been dumped by their girlfriends, while T.S is desperate to get his girl back Broadie is to arrogant to admit he wants his back 2. Broadie takes T.S to the mall to help them forget about their estranged loved ones but this is where their epic quest to get their girlfriends back begins with hilarious consequences, enlisting the help of the infamous Jay and Silent Bob along the way. This film is a rollin on the floor laugh out loud comedy maybe not quite as funny as Smith's Jay and Silent Bob strike back but still up their with the funniest comedys of all time. Buy it now its great!...................oh its a sailboat(insider joke) you'll have 2 buy the movie to get it

This has to be one of the funniest films I have ever seen along with rest of Kevin Smith's films. You are left in stitches from the point the two main characters are dumped by their girlfriends through their quest to reclaim the loves of their lives with the help of the two mischief makers in chief Jay and Silent Bob and a whole host of other misfits and weirdoes that inhabit 'THE MALL' and other odd locations. The DVD itself has some very good extras including deleted scenes including a different opening to the film, also included in the extras are interviews with cast and crew, audio commentary, theatrical trailers and a music video making this a must have for any Kevin Smith fan or anyone who loves a truly awesome comedy.
