Matthew Modine (iANY GIVEN SUNDAY/i) stars as Joe Slovak, a brilliant first-year med student whose casual, nonconforming approach to life gets tested when he enrolls in iGross Anatomy/i, the toughest course in med school. Joe's freewheeling, independent style creates funny moments in the classroom, but puts him at odds with his demanding professor (Christina Lahti, iHIDEAWAY/i), who questions whether her class "rebel" has what it takes to be a doctor. On top of that, Joe falls in love with his no-nonsense lab partner (Daphne Zuniga -- iTHE SURE THING/i, iTV's MELROSE PLACE/i), who won't let anything, especially romance, interfere with her plans. And while Joe's never done anything by the book, he proves he does have what it takes to succeed -- without changing his ways!

A film based on life of medical students March 13, 2004
A saga of a group of medical students surviving their first year of medical school... very funny and realistic. Shows portray of typical medical students, ones wearing a tie every day and proclaiming their desire to be a surgeon to every doctor they meet. How stress is shared among medical students. But most are like the rest of the cast... real people surviving a surreal situation... medical school! The story is basically based on life of medical students.brA great movie for potential medical students to watch.
