Amazon.co.uk Review Unhappy and lonely after her mother's death, Casey (Lindsay Lohan) attempts to resurrect her mother, but a minor mishap changes the results of her spell and brings an unwanted doll named Eve (Tyra Banks) to life instead. Eve is elated when she first encounters the smells and flavours of real life, but is shocked to realize that she's not the perfect role model she's always considered herself to be. Casey initially despises Eve--she never wanted this doll in the first place and now she's ruined her chances of bringing her mother back to life. But as Eve grows, she brings out the best in Casey, encouraging her to renew old friendships and spurring personal growth and healing. Even Casey's father (Jere Burns) rises above his grief and builds a better relationship with his daughter as a result of his interaction with Eve. This is an entertaining, 89-minute video that juxtaposes the stresses and disappointments of the real world, with their accompanying potential for personal growth, against what initially appears to be a stereotypically idyllic world. What makes the movie powerful is its suggestion that that ideal world is inherently flawed. Performances by Lindsay Lohan (iThe Parent Trap/i), supermodel Tyra Banks (iHigher Learning/i), and Jere Burns (US television's iSomething So Right/i) are very good. The story, while based on a fairly unreal premise, successfully explores some very real issues facing kids today. --iTami Horiuchi/i

I loved this film, it was really warm and lighthearted, but probably best suited to a girly girl.
br /It stars a young lindsay Lohan who gets a doll for her birthday, and she does a spell and accidentally makes the doll come to life.
br /Theres plenty of humor and i really recommend it to anyone who likes this kind of film!

I saw this film years and years ago on the Disney Channel, and loved it. I have since bought it on DVD and even though I am 18 now, I still think its great. At some parts who will be laughing, at Eve#x27;s mishaps, and then other moments your eyes will fill up. A great film for all ages, although perhaps more of a female than male audience. Its one you can watch over and over again.
if u luv lindsay u'll luv it! May 23, 2004 S. Gavaghan 76 out of 97 found this review helpful
well i have to say i have been dying to see this film for a while and it didnt let me down. if you loved Lindsay Lohans performance in disneys remake of 'The parent trap' you will luv her in this too! The plot of the film is a little cheesy and ubelieveble at times but if you luv the fantasy world of make believe you will luv this movie, its got everything from comedy to heart touching moments that reduce you to tears! another great job by young lindsay lohan!!
Entertaining enough February 13, 2008 Dodster (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
But really for fans of young Lindsay Lohan and Tyra Banks.
br /The script is predictable. Young girl has lost her mother and tries to bring her back to life using a spell from the book of the dead. Instead the doll (Tyra) is brought to life. The occult part of the movie is small and if you can live with it, doesn't spoil the remainder.
br /The story focuses on the girl's initial hostility then friendship with her new companion.
br /If you watch any of America's Top model, you'll see a lot of Tyra's trademark comments and faces in this movie. Is she acting or it for real?
br /Overall a reasonable family movie.
A worrying start February 4, 2008 Chris Morse (UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I did worry at the start of this film. I bought it for my 8 year old daughter. It's a Disney film, it's U rated so when it starts off with the occult and Lindsay Lohan drawing pentagrams in her bedroom I did wonder just what was going on.
br /A couple of times there's some akward moments where you wonder if this film is going to go into "dark territory", like when the guy at the office is hitting on Eve, but, Disney seems to remember this is a kids film and the ending is a happy one.
br /Not great, and the start is very unusual for a Disney, but a bit of fun nevertheless.
