| Customer Reviews: The Fantastic Mr Foxx!!! November 29, 2004 Ironmonkey (UK) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
You may or may not recoqnise Jamie Foxx from the recent Tom Cruise vehicle, 'Collateral' in which he plays the unfortunate cab driver abuducted by Cruise's lead character. But if your're a fan of African American comedy (complete with plenty of M.F's, 'N' words and an assorted garbage can of street verbatim) then Jamie Foxx is for you! Mr Foxx has recently established himself amongst the leading black comedians in the U.S. Don't get me wrong, Foxx (like his contemporaries Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock and Dave Chapelle) doesn't begin to compare to anything like comic legend Richard Pryor but his material is more relevant to todays social issues and politics. Foxx takes shots at the likes of Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown and Mike Tyson. Foxx's hilarious impression of the now ageing and stuttering dance skills of Michael Jackson will live with me for a long time. "Did you see him at the MTV awards?" asks Foxx "He was doing the 'moonwalk' but looked like he had a piece of gum stuck to his shoe!" he continues Foxx whilsts performing a credible jilted dance routine which reminded me of Des Lawson playing his piano badly, something which actually takes talent to perform deliberatly. This is a cracker.........but you need the Richard Pryor DVD more than anything else in the world!
