With Venice, California, serving as a Bohemian backdrop, the pre-teen queens of the dead-mum genre scheme to find their widowed father a girlfriend by turning a Hollywood billboard into a personal ad. Breezy predictability ensues: Dad gets thousands of letters and dates a series of progressively weirder women before bumping into Ms Right. Since Dad's a successful sculptor, true love destroys the angst behind his profitable art. As his agent tries to drive a wedge between the lovebirds, the twins become unwitting accomplices. All of this just sets the stage, really, for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to do their thing--they are way cool, fashionable and mature beyond their pre-teen years--with their equally hip friends, who have a drama of their own unfolding on the diving team. The girl's mother died when they were small and their dad had been sad ever since. He spent most of his time sculpting. One day the girls decide that their dad needs a women to cheer him up, so they paint a personal ad for him- onto a billboard!!!!!!!!! The consquences are......... Billboard Dad is a great film!!!!!!! January 1, 2004 1 out of 1 found this review helpful Billboard Dad is a great film! Mary-Kate plays Tess Tyler and Ashley plays Emily Tyler, who are both superb divers on their local diving team. They live with just their dad, Max (who is a sculpter) as their mum has died. Because their dad is always involved in his work and seems unhappy, they realize that he what he needs is a woman in his life, so along with their friend, Codie, they advertise their own dad on a billboard , hoping that women will respond! And luckily enough, tons do! Due to this, Max Tyler eventually meets the second love of his life, Brooke. But it's not all a perfect, happy story because along the way, Tess, Emily and Brooke's son Ryan discover a secret about Max's agent, Nigel and they have to put a stop to him! But you'll just have to watch this film to find out if they do! Please do though, because this film is not to be missed, oh , and in this film Maty-Kate and Ashley are really cute bacause they are quite young, so this is another good reason to watch this amazing film!!!!! olsen twins billboard dad April 6, 2005 melanie jeffree 2 out of 7 found this review helpful i love the way that the twins try to help their dad find a date,their mum passed away when they was young the girls play Tess and emily, they have this guy called nagel who dont wont their dad to get a new girlfriend because if he does then his work will go down hill so he try and put's a stop to it but the twins find out what he is up to ever 5 dates that all go wrong he said no more and then Booke comes along and they was getting on so well until nigel broke his glasses and recorded the whole thing on to tape and them played it on the tape recorder hoping them Tess and Emily was listening.both girls are on the swim team and their is a boy call cody and he like tess but in the end they live happliy ever after dad, brooke, tess, Emily and Brooke son. Arden This was my second marykate and Ashley film and I saw this with my best friend Stehanie at a sleepover, andI really enjoyed this and then I got into other maryate and Ashley movies. br /It is about two girls called Tess and Emily and they live in America with their dad only, because their mum died and they think their dad is unhappy because he hasn't got a woman in his life. One night they put up a notice in Sunset street proposing an article with any lady that is instersted. He makes a bet with his daughter that he can go on a number of dates to find the perfect lady. One day he meets just the one and they go on several dates and they fall deeply in love. Up sets and break ups finally came clean and they then live together in his huge mansion and everything is alright. br /I personally love the beginning the way it opens, and you should seriously buy this as it's totally worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! br / Olsen fans - buy this now!! Fans of their other films and hit TV show Two of A kind will be in their element throughout this film. The Olsen twins star as Emily and Tess determined to find their single father a new love. They go to all means possible including a very funny feature regarding a billboard - I won't tell you what because it might spoil the film for you.
