| Customer Reviews: Odd but good October 23, 2007 Slimfast (Northampton) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Apart from the 3 "bonus" tracks this is the same as the vhs release from the early 90s. It's quirky and in some respects a strange combination of songs. A lot of them are simply promo videos, so if (as it seems some people are) you're after a live video then look elsewhere (except that there isn't anywhere else to look). I'd like a live video too, but that would be a different review wouldn't it.
br /I like this a lot and I'm not sure I understand the criticisms in the other reviews. The version of Say Hello In There (unavailable elsewhere to the best of my knowledge) is worth the asking price on its own.
Enjoyable collection November 20, 2004 RE (W Mids UK) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
It's a crying shame that there's no full live concert film available of this great band from their late 80s heyday. The few live performances here - My Mother the War (from the Tube), Don't Talk (Paris 87 but overdubbed with what sounds like the studio version!), Dust Bowl (MTV Unplugged 89) - only tantalise further left me wanting to see the real deal. Was the Paris concert recorded in full? Please release it!pThe atmospheric film for Pit Viper was also very interesting.
Naff video of a great band December 12, 2004 Captain Scarlet 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
I'm a big fan of the band and Natalie Merchant in general, but despite this I have to say this is a real lame duck. It comprises of several very dated 80's video's, which I doubt looked even very good at the time, plus some concert footage with studio soundtrack dubbed over! Natalie herself directed this and, well, what was she thinking! Stick to music and being generaly gorgous Natalaie and leave film directing to others from now on!pGet some real concert footage out soon!
